I believe students learn best when they are engaged in the learning process. I like to incorporate games, puzzles and other “hands-on” engaging activities into lessons to help students feel at ease and intrigued. I am passionate about helping students reach their academic goals.

I spent the last nine years working on an elementary mathematics curriculum team where I wrote and vetted mathematics components for my district’s curriculum and instruction department. I have in depth understanding of the developmental trajectory of mathematics which makes me an outstanding mathematics teacher/tutor.
On top of holding a lifetime teacher certification from the state of Texas, I also hold a certification in the Science of teaching Reading. I have numerous years of experience in phonics instruction and guided reading.
I have taught grades 3-5 which are STAAR test grade levels. I have a deep understanding of the assessment. I know what standards are tested and how to prepare students to perform at the highest levels.
I hold a Science of teaching reading certification with may years experience in teaching and tutoring phonics instruction. I understand the sequence of phonics instruction that is best for young learners.
