I am a special education teacher with 8 years of experience in classroom, small-group, and one-on-one settings, and a proud mom of two girls, ages 10 and 6. I hold a Master’s degree in Special Education and am certified in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), in addition to my teaching certification. Over the years, I have worked with students with a wide range of abilities, learning differences, and needs, tailoring my instruction to meet each student where they are. My teaching approach is grounded in evidence-based strategies, including differentiated instruction, structured literacy, positive behavior supports, and hands-on, multi-sensory methods. I strive to create a supportive, patient, and encouraging environment that helps students build both academic skills and confidence.
In addition to my classroom experience, I have provided private tutoring for students from kindergarten through 7th grade, both with and without disabilities, across subjects such as reading, writing, math, and organization. Through these experiences, I have learned how to adapt lessons for individual learners, scaffold challenging concepts, and provide meaningful feedback to promote understanding and growth. My goal as a tutor is to help each student reach their potential by fostering a love of learning, strengthening foundational skills, and providing the personalized support that allows them to succeed both academically and personally.
