Children and Adults Spanish Tutor

I am originally from Mexico, and my formal education has been in Spanish from preschool to my college training. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Mexico. After I moved to the U.S., I obtained an English to Spanish Translator Certificate. My love for teaching combined with Spanish, my native language, have provided me with the opportunity to work with children and adults as well. I have worked with several school districts in Illinois as a Teacher Assistant and Instructor in implementing personalized programs for students with difficulties of learning English and Spanish. For fourteen years, I have concentrated on reading and writing skills in Spanish for the bilingual students at the elementary level. I have worked with private institutions in after school programs teaching Spanish to both monolingual and bilingual students. I have tutor adults in survival and conversational Spanish.

I am a very passionate about finding the “right” or “best” learning style for each individual student. I understand that everyone has their own style and timing in the learning process. I am very flexible and creative in implementing techniques that help them to achieve their goals. I am available for tutoring at your home or at a public library.
