I am a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering graduate from University of the Philippines Los Baños (Top University in the Philippines). After graduation, the same year, I acquired my PRC License in Chemical Engineering and Chemical Technician. While studying for the board exam for my licenses, I got offered admission to Stephen F. Austin State University for Master of Science in Environmental Science. Few months after my license, I decided to start studying in SFASU and is now working towards getting my Masters degree with the hopes of pursuing a doctorate degree right after.
My experiences in tutoring includes both professional and casual settings. I have helped my younger cousins (ages 9-15) with their studies one-on-one which started when i was still in secondary/highschool. Also I started freelance tutoring during my undergraduate study (to other college students) to earn additional money using online platform whenever I have freetime. Some students became a regular tutee of mine until I stopped tutoring to focus on my review for boards/ licensure exam.
Currently, I am a Graduate Teaching Assistant and handles laboratory classes (which includes students from different levels: Freshman to Senior Year), dealing with about 25 students each semester. Student feedback from the previous semester was all positive, saying that I helped them a lot to understand the lessons. Additionally, feedback responses said that I am very approachable and teaches adaptively depending on how students learn, specially on one-by-one sessions.
Personally, whenever I teach or tutor students, the first sessions feel like a trial period where I still figure out the best possible way to teach the student. I always try to based my approach on teaching how the students receive the lessons. This way, students learn better and easier.
