My name is Leah! I am a college student currently studying forestry at Stephen F Austin State University. Although I am entering into a STEM field, English has always been my strongest subject. I am passionate about writing both in an academic and creative setting. My elementary homeschool education gave me a thorough understanding of the core concepts of English. In middle and high school I attended an early college preparatory school which had a strong focus on MLA style essays. The combination of these has made me the exceptional writer I am today.
I have over 5 years of experience in a wide variety of childcare and classroom roles. Most notably, I have been a volunteer Sunday school teacher for 4 years. I am currently an assistant teacher for a horsemanship course for children aged 2-6 years old. I have worked as a camp counselor for 7-14 year old children. I have also tutored friends and siblings aged 13-16 in English, helping them to revise, edit, and improve their essays.
I like to meet students where they are at, wherever that may be. I like to focus on building a strong foundation in the very basics of writing, then build from there. I hope to help students improve their overall writing skills and earn better grades in their courses.
