Bio

Jonathon M. Toni's unique and captivating pianism has led him to perform at some of the most prestigious concert venues in the Midwest. In the fall of 2015, Jonathon received a special invitation by Steinway & Son's to perform a short recital on Vladimir Horowitz’s piano during its Chicago tour at the Steinway Gallery of Northbrook, IL. Then in 2016, he had a successful audition to be apart of the prestigious Six Piano Ensemble under the direction of Glenna Sprague during the 2016-2017...

Jonathon M. Toni's unique and captivating pianism has led him to perform at some of the most prestigious concert venues in the Midwest. In the fall of 2015, Jonathon received a special invitation by Steinway & Son's to perform a short recital on Vladimir Horowitz’s piano during its Chicago tour at the Steinway Gallery of Northbrook, IL. Then in 2016, he had a successful audition to be apart of the prestigious Six Piano Ensemble under the direction of Glenna Sprague during the 2016-2017 season.

Jonathon's involvement in choral activities consists of a rich, 7+ year's experience of being a music director & organist for parishes of the Catholic Archdiocese of Chicago, Diocese of Joliet, Archdiocese of Detroit, and the Diocese of Fort Worth. In addition to his music director experience, Jonathon has 13+ years experience singing in the choirs and has performed as a Bel Canto tenor in several operatic and broadway productions. As a performing artist in piano, voice, and chamber music, Mr. Toni was distinctly selected to participate in master classes of Yulia Lipmanovich, Nelita True, Steve Zivin, Charles Allen Anderson, Kay Kim, Nicole Cabell, Vadim Mazo, and Nazar Duhzyrn.

Jonathon holds an honorary B.M. in Piano Performance with Emphasis in Vocal Studies from Northeastern Illinois University and is currently a member of the Fort-Worth Chapter of the American Guild of Organists, MTNA, CMAA, ACDA, and a certified Steinway & Son's Educator.

I have over 12 years experience of playing basketball. During my high school years, I was active player for the Varsity team from sophomore through Senior year of high School. Since my college years, I was further involved in intramural basketball games and tournaments. Next year, I will be assistant coach for the Sacred Heart (Muenster) High School basketball team.

I have 8 years experience of Bible Study. I teach bible study for the Catholic Church but also for other non-catholic denominations. I've been invited all over the US for retreats and mission trips to provide bible studies during those events. I teach bible study with great passion and patience.
Bodybuilding

For 7 years now, I have always been into bodybuilding. I have used fantastic programs such as p90x and insanity. To this day, I coach bodybuilding routines to my friends at NEIU where they are very pleased with the results they get. Some of the routines I teach are based off of popular programs like p90x as well as some workout routines I came up with.

My background in chess consists of 12+ years of studying and competing in chess tournaments ranging from local public libraries in the Midwest to major chess tournaments sponsored by the United States Chess Federation. Each chess lesson/tutoring session consists of a rich study in developing strategies, pawn-game openings, and developing rich skills in the end game through various exercises and puzzles. My instruction is geared towards students ages 6+ and at any level of experience.

I have studied music at Harper College in Palatine, IL, for two years under renowned music theorist/sight singing specialists Dr. Barbara Bowker and Dr. Charmian Tashjian. I have tutored ear training for one year ever since starting at Northeastern Illinois University in Fall of 2012. When it comes to both sight singing and ear training, I make sure those who I tutor/teach get the basics down pat, meaning that I have the individuals know their intervals sufficiently and know the difference between a major, minor, augmented, and diminished chord(audibly). Then, I would focus on dictations for those who range from very beginner to advance levels.

I have been tutoring English since freshmen year of high school. Today, I tutor English to all ages. My goal is to make sure that all of those whom I tutor are successful. I tutor those that are in elementary, high school, and college.

Since attending college, I have been tutoring those who are learning English as a secondary language. My goal is always to make sure that my students are successful. When I work with my students, I make all of my sessions worth while to make sure that my students understand the material very clearly. If my students are slow in understanding the material, I always go down to their level and build them up.

While coaching bodybuilding at NEIU, I also coached regular cardio and weight training routines. I have been coaching my friends in fitness since my freshmen year while at Harper College. Whenever I coach fitness, I start my friends out at the level that is appropriate for them, by means that if they haven't worked out for a while, I would give them routines in cardio and weight training to gradually recondition there muscles and tendons. Today, I still coach fitness and looking to acquire more pupils.

When I tutor, I am patient and tough to make sure that success can be achieved. My background in tutoring TOEFL consists of 9+ years of experience tending to bi-lingual individuals of all ethnic backgrounds. Each tutoring/lesson session is rich of learning and practicing English through repetitive simplified exercises, games and activities, speaking, and writing. Tutoring sessions are 1 hour in duration and designed to be fun.
