Hello to all my future students and parents! I am a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering. I have over 15 years specializing in math courses between 6th to 12th grades and college courses up until calculus (Geometry, Pre Algebra, Algebra 1&2, Pre-Calculus, Calculus). I also have expertise in Physics 1.
Additionally, I do preparation for SAT and ACT (Math and Science subjects)

i specialize in crisis tutoring. meaning when your student is severely behind or struggling, I set up a plan to get them back on track and focus on the main concepts to help them recover.

My tutoring approach is unique. I pride myself in understanding the style of my students' learning first, then applying an individual teaching style to each student. I also specialize in relating math and physics concepts to the real world so that it is easier for my students to relate to their subjects. I have a 100% success rate in transforming a failing grade into a passing grade of B or above. I expect my students to apply themselves but I take responsibility in providing them the tools to do so.

Here is the kicker: I love math. I love to help students succeed. I love to get my students excited about their work and teach them confidence in these subjects that have otherwise turned into a burden for them. I believe that every person in this world can do math if they are taught correctly. I am the tutor that will think about my student on the day of their big exam and then get excited to see an email or get a phone call from them later on with a playback of how the test was!

I have expertise in all SAT and ACT related Math courses. I have tutored in the subjects related to SAT Math for the last 7 years. I have also tutored one on one for SAT Math. In addition to my one-on-one tutoring experience, I have prepared and lead multiple group sessions for high school SAT prep courses which are similar to the ACT. I focus on test readiness. My approach is designed to help a student prepare for maximizing their understanding of test material so that it can easily be recognized in any form when taking the SAT.

Excellent Math Tutor!!

Ms. Zakiyyah is exceptional as a tutor. By the end of the first session, my son's confidence in math was on the way back up. Ms. Zakiyyah quickly figured out what my son did or did not know, and started on problems that would give him a boost of confidence as he figured out how to solve. Ms. Zakiyyah knew when to ask questions that would lead my son to the correct answer, and he was fantastic about how encouraging she was in a very sincere way. I listened to the first sessions and am amazed at how Ms. Zakiyyah was able to simplified math problems so smoothly! My son said, "Finally, I found a tutor who understands me." Planning more sessions, she's a keeper!
