Mrs Cathy is every parent's dream when it comes to tutoring grade school mathematics. She is patient with kids and listen to parents in an attempt to do what is optimal for the student. I highly recommend her anytime for parent looking to improve the performance for their kids
I have nothing but great things to say, my son felt so comfortable with Ms. Cathy. He said she was so patient and calm in her teaching style. He also stated she made him feel so confident that he would pass his TAKS exam. I would use her again and she comes highly recommended.
Ms Cathy is a very good tutor. It is apparent she has a lot of experience working with children. My granddaughter turned her grades around in just a few weeks of working with Ms Cathy.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have taught Algebra I for many years in FBISD and HISD before retiring in 2009! I presently work as a Math Substitute Teacher in FBISD and last school year I worked as a Math Intervention Specialist at one of their middle schools. I have also been active in private tutoring since my retirement so I stay up on my skills. It is imperative that students do well in Algebra I for it is the gateway for all future math classes! So do contact me for expert tutoring!
I started tutoring for this exam in 2011 when a young man at my church confessed that he was trying to get into the military, but was not able to score well on the math part of the exam. I started tutoring this young man and the next time he took the exam, he scored very well. Today this young man is on his first Army duty assignment in Germany. Remember with the right attitude, prayer, a good tutor and a determination to not let anything keep you from your dream, you can make it happen!
I am a certified retired math teacher with many years of teaching experience. Tutoring is what I enjoy most ! So if you want quality help from someone who has the time to devote to your child, contact me!
I have taught Geometry ever since I started teaching in FBISD. I always taught geometry along with other math subjects. I taught Geometry at Clements, Kempner and Willowridge high schools. At WHS I was the Geometry Team Leader for 11 years and I also taught Geometry Honors & GT classses. I have also taught the advanced and lower levels too. So I have taught all levels of ability. Since retiring from the classroom in 2009, I have been able to do what I enjoy the most which is individual tutoring! I enjoy seeing my students' eyes light up when a concept that was difficult for them is finally understood after even our 1st tutoring session! I now have the free time to devote to tutoring and I just love it! Hope to hear from you soon!
I taught Prealgebra for many years while teaching in FBISD and HISD. Since retiring I have done a lot of private tutoring, some substitute teaching in math and also served as a Math intervention Specialist at one of FBISD middle schools. I enjoy private tutoring and often research new ideas to help students learn mathematics. Please contact me if you want great quality help for your child!
At Willowridge high school in FBISD all math teachers were required to teach TAKS math as part of each subject we taught whether Algebra I, Geometry or Algebra II. I have also taught TAKS Math classes at Willowridge high school for many years and have tutored students with great success for this exam. I taught TAKS Math classes for 10th through 12th grades. These were classes that were scheduled for students who had taken their grade level TAKS tests and had failed the previous year and were more than 2 grade levels behind in their math skills. I also tutored on Saturday mornings in the weeks before the TAKS test special groups of seniors who were at the point of not graduating unless they passed. I also tutored 9th through 11th graders too.
