Hello! My name is Avani Desai, and I am a sophomore studying Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Texas at Austin. I have always been passionate about learning and sharing knowledge, which has naturally led me to tutoring. My strong foundation in mathematics, combined with my problem-solving skills, allows me to explain complex concepts in an accessible and engaging way. I enjoy helping students build confidence in their abilities, particularly in math-related subjects and standardized test preparation.

I have been tutoring for over three years in both in-person and online formats. My experience includes working with students of various ages, from middle school to high school, in subjects such as Algebra, Geometry, Pre-Calculus, and Calculus. Additionally, I have extensive experience preparing students for the SAT (I scored a 1590 out of 1600), helping them develop test-taking strategies and a deep understanding of key mathematical concepts. I adapt my teaching methods based on each student’s learning style, breaking down problems step by step and encouraging critical thinking rather than memorization.

My tutoring experience spans different contexts, including one-on-one private tutoring, volunteer teaching programs, and structured online sessions. I have developed study materials, practice quizzes, and interactive lessons to keep students engaged and motivated. I take pride in fostering a supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and tackling challenges. My goal is to not only help students improve their grades and test scores but also to instill a lifelong appreciation for learning and problem-solving.
