I recently earned my Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering with a minor in Sustainability Engineering from the University of Texas at Arlington, after completing my Associate of Science in Engineering Science at Dallas College. I also hold my NCEES Fundamentals of Engineering certification, along with laboratory safety and water quality citizen science training. My academic background in advanced mathematics, physics, and engineering analysis has provided me with a strong technical foundation, while my professional experience in transportation research and stormwater engineering has strengthened my problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
For over three years, I have worked with students ranging from elementary school through college in a variety of settings, including one-on-one tutoring, small classroom instruction, online sessions, and in-home support. During the 2024–2025 school year, I served as a STEM Educator with GradePower Learning/Strategic Focus, where I taught advanced topics in calculus, algebra, physics, and chemistry. I design customized lesson plans that incorporate real-world applications and hands-on problem solving to help students build both confidence and mastery. One of my proudest achievements was helping a student raise her SAT score by 170 points, enabling her to enroll in the college of her choice. I have also supported peers in advanced mathematics courses and worked closely with students facing learning disabilities, language barriers, and varying academic levels, always adapting my approach to meet their individual needs.
My teaching philosophy centers on patience, structure, and encouragement. I believe that every student is capable of excellence when given the right tools and support. By breaking down complex concepts into manageable steps and reinforcing foundational skills, I help students develop independence and critical thinking abilities that extend beyond the classroom.
