I have watched Math and Engineering majors struggle with accounting. Accounting is not hard just different. I view accounting as a corporation's story with each month a chapter and a each year the current edition.

Previously I taught basic financial and managerial accounting in the evening division at a small liberal college. I currently work in the public accounting field working with a variety of clients.

I enjoy watching the "Aha" moment when a student understands the concept and can make it apply to the current topic. While technology is everywhere, many times we return to the old school of paper and pencil to understand the basics.

Accounting is like Math and Foreign Languages in that each section builds on the past. If you cannot get the basics you cannot proceed forward.

I have worked with both Microsoft Excel and QuickBooks for 25 plus years. I have used various versions and years of QuickBooks and understanding how the novice can get confused and lost in thinking it is "just like a checkbook."

I have an MBA with emphasis in Accounting. I am a licensed CPA (in Missouri). I have worked in both public and private accounting for the past 25 plus years. I have taught accounting in the past and understand how to approach a topic in several ways to help the student understand.

I have known people who have taken and failed an accounting class numerous times because they just don't understand and constantly struggle. Let me help you quit struggling, understand the topic and succeed in your class! Who knows you might even become an accounting major.
