Hi! My name is Catalina, and I recently graduated from Texas Christian University with a B.S. in Neuroscience after completing the pre-health track. Through my coursework, I gained extensive experience in challenging STEM subjects including biology, neuroscience, psychology, chemistry, and statistics. As a student myself, I understand how overwhelming rigorous courses can sometimes feel, especially when concepts begin to build on one another quickly. Because of this, I focus not only on helping students understand the material, but also on helping them develop strong study habits, organization strategies, and critical thinking skills that can improve long-term academic success.
My tutoring approach is patient, encouraging, and personalized to each student’s learning style. I believe that many students are capable of understanding difficult subjects when concepts are explained clearly and broken down into manageable steps. I enjoy helping students build confidence and reduce anxiety around challenging coursework by creating a supportive learning environment where questions are always welcome. In addition to my academic background, I also have experience working with younger students through volunteer activities and enjoy making complex topics feel more approachable and less intimidating. Whether a student needs help preparing for exams, improving study strategies, or strengthening their understanding of STEM material, I aim to help them feel more confident and capable throughout the learning process.
