Hello! My name is Asher, and I’ve been teaching and tutoring mathematics for over ten years. I hold a B.S. in Mathematics from Louisiana State University (3.58 GPA) and a Graduate Certificate in Applied Mathematics from Kansas State University. My experience spans teaching high school students in the U.S. and preparing learners abroad for Math Olympiads, covering subjects from Pre-Algebra and Algebra to Geometry, Trigonometry, SAT Math, Precalculus, Calculus, Linear Algebra, Abstract Algebra, and Differential Equations.

I started tutoring in high school and continued throughout college, working with students privately and at a campus math center. These experiences helped me learn how to adjust my teaching to different learning styles, academic levels, and goals, while making challenging concepts easier to understand through clear, step-by-step explanations. Since 2021, I’ve focused full-time on online tutoring, developing personalized pacing guides and structured study plans that target each student’s needs, strengthen problem-solving skills, and build confidence. I also keep my lessons flexible, interactive, and engaging so students feel comfortable asking questions and actively participating in their learning.

My recent work includes helping an SAT student improve her math score after only a few sessions, guiding a Calculus 11 student who gained the confidence to excel after struggling at first, and tutoring a student who successfully passed an Algebra 2 exam after having to retake it. My teaching style is supportive, flexible, and student-centered. I break complex concepts into clear, manageable steps, connect lessons to practical examples, and encourage active participation rather than memorization. I also provide test-taking strategies, including time management, recognizing problem types, and approaching challenging questions with confidence. My goal is to strengthen students’ skills, understanding, and confidence so they can become independent problem-solvers. Looking forward to working with you.
