I hold a Bachelor of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders and a Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology. My academic background has provided me with extensive knowledge and experience in language development, reading, writing, communication, and how individuals learn and process information. I am currently completing a Secondary English Language Arts teacher certification program for grades 7–12. I have completed the required state certification examination and am currently awaiting my results. Through my certification coursework, I have developed additional knowledge in ELA instruction, reading comprehension, writing, grammar, literary analysis, TEKS, and ELPS.
Throughout my career in healthcare and speech-language pathology, I have had opportunities to tutor, mentor, and train graduate students and other learners in academic and professional settings. I have provided individualized instruction, explained complex concepts, demonstrated appropriate techniques, answered questions, and adapted my approach based on each learner's needs and level of understanding. These experiences have strengthened my ability to communicate information clearly and create a supportive learning environment. As a tutor, I take a patient and individualized approach and aim to help students build both their academic skills and confidence. I am particularly interested in working with middle and high school students in reading comprehension, writing, grammar, essay organization, and English Language Arts.
