I truly love the art of teaching mathematics. The feeling I receive when students can show me what they have learned is a great and wonderful experience. Math can be confusing, but I can guarantee with my help, you will improve. I like to challenge my students, but not overwhelm them. Education is a fun process, math should be too!

I earned an Actuarial Math degree at Bradley University in 2009, but decided to pursue education as my life career. I enrolled with Western Governors University to obtain a Master's degree in Mathematical Secondary Education and went back several years later to get another Master's in Curriculum and Instruction to further my teaching experience. I have spent nine years inside the classroom. My first three years were as a Math assistant and tutor, then the next three years as the Math & Science head of a private school, and finally the last three as a College algebra teacher for seniors transitioning into college level mathematics.

Homework, to me, is like practice. I am expecting you to not do one hundred percent, but all I want for you is to try. Everyday I ask for homework completion grades, but we do grade it together and will discuss any problems or questions you may have. I also give daily quizzes, which show me whether or not you did your assignment. These are quick and easy 5 problems that come straight from the homework. After doing several lessons, I will give a summative assessment over the main concepts of the material being taught.

Professional is the name of my game. I ask for students to give me a 24-hour notice cancellation and I will hold them to that. Math is usually learned independently and done on your own, so I expect the you to contact me if needed. You are always welcome to give me feedback, but it is not necessary (you can spend your time doing more important things than e-mailing me on how much I helped).
