Afternoon/evening Elementary Tutor

I currently work as a special education math teacher for Lubbock ISD. I am certified to teach special education EC-12 and CORE subjects EC-6. I love teaching and working with students to help reach their goals and build confidence. I am available for tutoring after school (typically after 4:30) on weekdays and weekends.

I currently work alongside six general education teachers in their math classrooms to provide inclusion support for special education students. I am familiar with the math curriculum that is taught in kindergarten - fifth grade. I provide small group instruction in math for fifth grade students as well. I am familiar with strategies to help struggling students feel more confident with math concepts.

I have experience working with children with deficits in reading fluency and reading comprehension. Last year, I worked with a third grade student who did not know any letters or sounds. By the end of the year, this student was reading on a kindergarten level.

I am extremely patient and have four years of experience working with general education and special education students. My goal is to help your child be successful in the classroom and to reach their goals.
