Hi there! I’m a dedicated, patient and passionate educator with a strong background in elementary education. I currently teach in the Lubbock Independent School District and hold certifications in grades K-12, as well as Special Education, ESL, and Gifted & Talented. Over the past four years, I’ve worked with students in Pre-K through 5th grade in both general education and small group settings, supporting a wide range of learning disabilities and special needs.

Additionally, as an inclusion specialist and case manager, I’ve spent years crafting individualized education plans (IEPs) to ensure students receive the accommodations and modifications they need to thrive. I understand that every child learns differently, and my goal is to make learning accessible, engaging, and confidence-building.

My specialty is math, especially with the modern approaches that often differ from the way parents learned. I love helping students break down math concepts in ways that make sense to them, reducing frustration and building skills they can apply independently.

Whether your child needs help with foundational skills, extra support in special education, or just a boost in confidence, I’m here to help! I’d love to work with your student and support them in reaching their full potential.

Elementary (K-6th)

I hold a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and am a current, certified teacher with over four years of hands-on classroom experience. As a resource and inclusion teacher for the past 4 years, I work with students in grades K-5 providing targeted support to help them build strong foundational skills in reading and math. With active certifications in special education, gifted and and talented, and the science of teaching reading, my expertise includes differentiating instruction to meet the individual needs of each student, whether they require enrichment or remediation. I use a variety of teaching strategies and hands-on materials to engage students and make abstract concepts more accessible. Additionally, as an inclusion specialist in the general education setting, I am skilled at supporting students with diverse learning needs. I have a strong understanding of K-5 subject content, allowing me to tailor instruction, helping students engage with and master key concepts across all subjects. My Science of Teaching Reading (STR) certification, a rigorous, research-based framework that emphasizes foundational literacy skills such as phonics, phonemic awareness, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension, reflects advanced training in evidence-based literacy instruction, including structured literacy approaches, diagnostic assessments, and differentiated interventions for struggling readers. My combined credentials position me as a specialist in bridging special needs with language acquisition and application of foundational math skills, in order to promote student success.
