Hello, I'm Jace! I am currently a student at UT Austin where I am studying business. I graduated from Spring Hill High School in 2023 as the Salutatorian where I competed in their math science program. It was here that I found my love for math and figured out the short cuts to problems that the standard classroom will not teach you. During my schooling, I have won TMSCA state in Number Sense and Mathematics and have also qualified for UIL state several years in Number Sense and Mathematics. Along with this, I received a 35 on the Math section on the ACT.
While I do not having a teaching degree, I have been a substitute teacher for grade levels ranging from 2nd Grade to 8th Grade. This experience working as a substitute has showed me that the traditional way of viewing a math problem, that is being taught by teachers, is not the best approach for the student nor for the problem itself. Through these tutoring sessions, I plan on teaching how I would approach these problems along with specific instructions on study habits for my students.
