Hello! My name is Deborah, and I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Human Sciences, where I specialized in Human Development and Family Sciences, Addictive Disorders and Recovery Studies, and Health Professions. Alongside my core major, I completed minors in both Biology and Chemistry. My educational background deeply informs how I connect with students; understanding human development allows me to meet learners exactly where they are cognitively and emotionally. I am passionate about making science and foundational learning accessible, and I plan to continue advancing my own medical education in the near future.

My professional teaching and childcare experience includes working directly as an infant educator, where I mastered the art of patience, calm communication, and structured care. Additionally, I regularly managed and guided after-school programs for older children aged 8 to 12. Outside of formal classroom settings, I have spent significant time providing one-on-one academic support and tutoring to my own siblings and cousins. This mix of professional childcare and personalized, family-focused tutoring has given me a strong grasp of how to keep younger students engaged, motivated, and confident even when school subjects get tough.

My tutoring philosophy centers entirely on active learning and mentorship, rather than just lecturing or assuming a student already knows the material. I always go with the student's natural flow, beginning our sessions by giving targeted questions to naturally gauge their current level. Once I identify their specific weaknesses, we tackle those areas directly while continuing to reinforce their strengths. I firmly believe in looping back to past mistakes reintroducing concepts they previously missed even after they have progressed to ensure the knowledge is permanently grounded in their memory. Above all, I see myself as a mentor who provides a calm, patient environment where students feel safe to make mistakes and build the resilience they need to suceed.

Bible Studies

As a lifelong Christian and active church leader, I possess a deep, foundational understanding of scripture and a passion for sharing the Gospel. I have undergone specialised training as an evangelist, which equips me with the tools to effectively teach, break down biblical context, and discuss faith in greater detail. In my ministry work, I actively engage in evangelism and spiritual mentorship, helping individuals connect deeply with the Word of God. I bring a patient, encouraging, and structured approach to Bible study, ensuring students of all backgrounds feel supported in their faith journey.
