To give you a brief on my background, when I was in high school, I took honors level math all the way to AP Calculus. When I took the SAT, I personally raised my score until it reached 1360 before going to and then graduating from the University of North Texas with a B.S. in Computer Science.
Since then, I began working full-time as a STEM instructor as part of the afterschool curriculum which has granted me experience in the classroom setting. While instructing I also began tutoring in various subjects but honed my craft in particular to high school math. In just one year of tutoring, I’ve had the opportunity to work with students ranging from Pre-Algebra to AP Precalculus.
I pride myself on breaking down difficult concepts into actionable steps and listening to my students to identify and bridge learning gaps. Rather than simply giving students an answer, I want them to understand how and why they arrived at it so they can approach similar problems with confidence. I adjust my approach based on each student's needs, whether that means reviewing foundational concepts, working through homework, preparing for a test, or providing additional practice.
