I recently graduated from Texas A&M University with a B.S. in Ecology and Conservation Biology with a focus in Vertebrate Zoology. While my academic background is heavily science-focused, I also have a strong passion for English, reading, and writing. I am an avid reader and classics enthusiast who enjoys helping students develop confidence in reading comprehension, writing, and communication skills. Through both my coursework and teaching experience, I have developed strong communication skills and a passion for making learning approachable and engaging.

For the past year, I have worked one-on-one with a 3rd grade student in spelling, reading, English, and math. During this time, I have helped strengthen foundational academic skills through individualized instruction, patience, and interactive learning approaches tailored to the student’s needs and learning style.

I have also spent the past year tutoring an 8th grade student in study habits, Integrative Physics and Chemistry (IPC), Algebra, and Spanish I. In this role, I focused not only on subject comprehension, but also on organization, study strategies, and building academic confidence.

In addition to private tutoring, I completed a STEM education internship where I taught and mentored high school students through hands-on, project-based environmental education activities. This included leading conservation and horticulture projects, guiding students through long-term capstone projects, and creating engaging lessons focused on science and environmental stewardship.

I also worked as a seasonal camp counselor at a zoo, where I led hands-on STEM and environmental education activities for children in group settings. This experience strengthened my ability to communicate complex topics in fun, age-appropriate, and engaging ways.

I enjoy creating a supportive and encouraging learning environment and adapting my teaching style to fit each student’s individual needs and goals.
