For math, I enjoy breaking down or building up concepts through demonstrating problems, and usually teach one-on-one. My assistant instructor and volunteer coaching experience has built great skills working in groups of students while being able to step in to give individual guidance as needed. I was surprised at how much I enjoyed my latest upper-level math courses, and would appreciate being able to smooth the learning process for others as they prepare for math.
For public speaking, I am an active Toastmasters public speaking club member. In high school, I placed at state level 4-H competitions, which largely involved presenting my project to a panel of judges. I look forward to growing with others in speaking skills through giving constructive, supportive feedback. Parts of my speech skills also stem from my talents in writing essays and their structure, which translate well to building the flow and stories of public speaking presentations.
