I received a bachelors of science degree in fitness and human performance from the university of Houston Clear Lake. Before attending UHCL I attended Springfield College in Springfield, Massachusetts (the birthplace of basketball) for 2 years. While at Springfield College I played soccer and rugby but chose to quit competitive sports due to injuries.
Although I do not play competitively I still enjoy training for speed, agility, strength and injury prevention. Because of my experiences I have 2 very strong beliefs:
Education is the key to longevity. One must learn how to properly execute the task at hand properly. This will help prevent injury and increase performance. I wish to use my experiences to teach young athletes the do's and dont's of sports health.
Nutrition is important for life. This includes everyone. From athletes to those just looking to be healthy, our bodies require quality food for health and fitness.
Anatomy and physiology were my favorite courses in high school and college. Both of which I earned A's.
I played multiple sports and have a degree in this particular field of work. I hope to not only teach students about training for sports and fitness, but to teach about how to take care of oneself outside of training.
