Greetings, I’m Jonathan! I graduated with a Master’s in Biology with specialization in Pre-Health Studies currently in my 2nd year of Medical School! During my college career I learned best when professors would manipulate the subjects to make connections much better than rereading PowerPoint slides. I tend to bring this and my experiences into my tutoring approach.

I tend to bring this and my experiences into my tutoring approach.

I love to give my time to serve as a mentor and a tutor as I grew up without those resources. It brings me joy helping students succeed and to give back to the community. I spent the majority of my schooling career in the science field which led me to be awarded a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Biology with Pre-Health Specialization. Throughout that time I have learned different methods of learning such as using associations with images, words, and mnemonics to efficiently learn the information instead of the common cram for an exam then forget the information once you walk out of the testing room. I tutored underclassmen as a Certified Peer Educator in different college-level science courses such as General Biology, Biochemistry, and Physiology with methods that has helped me.

I have utilized my study skills using associations and connecting topics together with use of mind maps and active recall methods to excel in this marathon of an exam. I will help you get an acceptable score on the MCAT; I scored a 517 myself. I will teach you not only the topics tested, but also how to think critically and take the test. The exam will try to trick you, but I will show you the pivot and trigger words that can steer the question in a different direction. We will also go over time management strategies such as ignoring the fluff of the passages and questions to make sure you do not run out of time taking the exam.
