What separates a good AP U.S. History student from a great one isn't how much history they memorize—it's how well they think, write, and defend an argument. That's what I've dedicated the past 15 years of my career to teaching.

What separates a good AP U.S. History student from a great one isn't how much history they memorize—it's how well they think, write, and defend an argument. That's what I've dedicated the past 15 years of my career to teaching.

I'm an Adjunct Professor of History, an online instructor, and a College Board AP U.S. History Reader since 2014. I've taught APUSH, Dual Credit U.S. History, and college history while helping students nationwide achieve their goals. As an AP Reader, I've evaluated 15,000+ AP U.S. History essays, giving me firsthand knowledge of what earns points—and what doesn't—on SAQs, DBQs, and LEQs.

Through History Made Easy, I've worked with approximately 150 AP U.S. History students in one-on-one and small-group online settings. Based on my records, approximately 40–50 earned a 5, 90–100 earned a 4, 0–5 earned a 3, and none earned a 2, 1, or 0 on the AP U.S. History Exam.

Parents consistently tell me the transformation extends beyond test scores. European History

I hold bachelor's and master's degrees in History from Texas A&M International University, where I completed extensive coursework in European History, including Early European civilizations, the 18th through 20th centuries, and World War II. Although I primarily teach AP U.S. History, I regularly help students understand the European ideas, revolutions, wars, and political movements that shaped the United States. From the Enlightenment and the Scientific Revolution to Napoleon, industrialization, imperialism, and the World Wars, I help students connect European history to the themes and events they encounter in APUSH and college history courses.

Geography

Geography is one of the foundations of AP U.S. History. I regularly teach geography alongside APUSH, using map quizzes and historical maps to help students understand exploration, colonization, westward expansion, sectionalism, the Civil War, industrialization, immigration, and American foreign policy. Rather than memorizing locations, students learn how geography influenced historical events, helping them think like historians while strengthening the analytical skills needed for AP U.S. History, college history, and historical writing. Students often become more confident once they realize geography isn't just about memorizing places—it's about understanding why historical events happened where they did.

Government & Politics

I taught U.S. Government for five years at the high school level and regularly integrate government and politics into AP U.S. History instruction. Understanding constitutional principles, federalism, political parties, and landmark Supreme Court cases is essential for success on the APUSH exam. My lessons help students connect government concepts to historical events while strengthening the analytical thinking and writing skills needed for SAQs, DBQs, and LEQs.

I am a certified 8-12th History Teacher with an average to above average testing results. For 8th grade, my STAAR results average to 64% the past two years. For 11th grade, my passing average is 100% the past 3 years.

I have graded over 10,000 essays for college board the past 11 years which makes me an expert at the SAQ, LEQ and DBQ portions of the exam. I currently teach 10th Grade World History remotely and have spent the past five years helping students understand the major civilizations, ideas, and global events that shaped our modern world. While my primary specialty is AP U.S. History, I regularly use European, African, Asian, and Latin American history to help students understand the historical context behind the APUSH curriculum. Whether preparing for AP World History, AP U.S. History, or a college history course, I help students connect historical events, think critically, and develop stronger analytical writing skills rather than simply memorize facts.

Enrique is working with my daughter on APUSH class and AP test prep. Already in the first 3 hours he has spent with her, she has learned more than the entire school year from her teacher. He has found a great way in communicating the information where she can deeply learn and doesn’t feel overwhelmed by the material. It’s been refreshing to have her not feel intimidated by the tutor. Excellent AP History tutor

Enrique has excellent teaching skills. My 17 year son who takes AP History has been working with him throughout the year. Last semester he made High Honor Roll. Enrique works with him on DBQ. He Is Not a Responsible Person

My daughter has scheduled first lesson last Friday (4/20/18),and my daughter contacted him eight minutes before class start. He replied to her that he needed to cancel the lesson because he is out. HE IS NOT A RESPONSIBLE PERSON. We had scheduled Sunday (4/22/18). I have asked help my daughter APUSH DBQ, but he just said her DBQ is good, and he starts review the textbook. He wasted my time and my daughter's time.
