My name is Malachi, and I am a sophomore at the University of North Texas studying Psychology on the pre-medical track. I've always been someone classmates turn to when they need a concept explained differently. Whether it's breaking down difficult material or helping someone build confidence, I enjoy making complex ideas easy to understand.
In college, I have organized study groups for Biology and Statistics, using real world analogies, relatable examples, and different perspectives until the material clicks. I have also led Bible study discussions, strengthening my ability to communicate clearly, ask thoughtful questions, and adapt to different learning styles. I enjoy working one-on-one and in small groups, where I can provide personalized support.
Beyond academics, I volunteered in hospitals, nursing homes, and community food shelters while working toward my Certified Patient Care Technician/Assistant (CPCT/A) certification. I also hold a Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. In high school, I served in JROTC as both Captain and Co-Captain of the Color Guard team, where I developed leadership, discipline, teamwork, and accountability.
I am especially passionate about Reading, ESL, and Psychology. Strong literacy and communication skills open doors in every subject, and I enjoy helping students develop confidence in reading, comprehension, and expressing their ideas. For ESL students, I provide patient instruction, clear pronunciation, and a supportive learning environment. As a Psychology major, I connect concepts to everyday life, making them engaging and easier to understand.
My teaching philosophy is simple: every student can learn when lessons are tailored to how they think. My goal isn't just to help students get the right answer, it's to help them truly understand it.
At the end of every session, my goal is simple: make it make sense.
