I am a recently retired teacher from the Dallas ISD. I am certified in ESL grades 6-12 and Composite Social Studies grades 8-12. Although I have not taught nor am I certified in English/Language Arts, this particular subject has always come easily for me and often my students would come to me for extra help with research papers and other types of written assignments.

Regarding tutoring "methods" I would have to say that however the student learns best would be the way to proceed. Some people are visual learners while others are auditory. Others are a combination of the two; no one way is superior to another.
