I have Master's degrees in both teaching English as a Second Language and in English Literature. My Bachelor's degree is in English with an emphasis on Spanish and History.

I am an engaging teacher who works hard to make each lesson individualized to the student's needs. I have taught for over 5 years as a personal tutor; before that, I taught English to high school students and ESL to university students here in the DFW area.

I have experience teaching English and ESOL to elementary, middle school, high school, and university students. I have experience tutoring in English, ESL, Spanish, American History, Speaking, Reading, and Writing. For some students, we work on certain skill areas, like reading comprehension or grammar. For others, I help them to pass a STAAR English exam or to improve their strategies on writing for the SAT or on writing APA or MLA sourced essays. For my younger students, we deal with parts of speech, spelling, reading, and writing paragraphs. Whatever your English, Spanish, or Social Studies learning needs are, I can help you like what you're learning more so that you will do better.

I have taught ESL for over 20 years. One of my students recently scored a 102 on the TOEFL ibt test! As an ESL tutor, I have worked with students from around the world. Some have just begun learning, and others are working on their doctorate degrees. I have helped students improve their writing, grammar, pronunciation, listening, and vocabulary. I have helped my students achieve the scores they needed on the following tests: IELTS, TOEFL, EIKEN, SAT Writing, SAT Reading, and all STAAR and EOC tests in Social Studies and English.
