I have been an educator for 25 years, first as a middle school teacher and now as a college professor. I have also worked one-on-one with students as a private tutor for more than 10 years. In each of these roles, I have worked extensively with students from diverse backgrounds and experiences.
I have a Ph.D. in American History from UT Austin, a J.D. from the University of Houston Law Center, and a B.A. from the University of Notre Dame. I am currently a college history professor and teach several writing intensive courses at a Top 20 university.
Away from the university, I specialize in helping students craft clear, cohesive, and interesting narratives that reflect their unique backgrounds and reasons for pursuing college or graduate school. In this Age of AI, well-developed and engaging personal and supplemental statements are more important than ever before because admissions committees have been inundated with bland AI-generated essays devoid of personality.
I work closely with students to write their essays from start to finish. Together we will brainstorm and outline your essay. We will revise it line by line. When the draft is complete, I will do a final round of line-by-line copy-edits, of which you will have final approval, until you are satisfied that the essay best represents who you are as a applicant. At the end of each meeting, I will give you clear next-steps and action items so that we can maximize our time together.
My students have been admitted to the Univ. of Pennsylvania Law School, Columbia Law School, NYU School of Law, Univ. of Chicago Law School, the UT School of Law, Baylor Univ. School of Law, the Univ. of Houston Law Center, UCLA Law School, Brooklyn Law School, New England School of Law, and Suffolk Univ. School of Law, to name a few.
