Hello! My name is Ms. Thesen, and I am a certified Elementary Special Education Teacher with four years of experience teaching in a self-contained Life Skills classroom. Throughout my career, I have worked with elementary-aged students with a wide range of learning styles, abilities, and support needs. I specialize in supporting students with ADHD, Autism, Dyslexia, Executive Functioning challenges, Intellectual Disabilities, and Developmental Delays. These experiences have helped me develop a patient, individualized approach that focuses on building confidence, independence, and academic growth while meeting each student where they are.

I earned my teaching certification through the Texas Teachers Alternative Certification Program and hold a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Lycoming College. My background in psychology, combined with my classroom experience, allows me to understand not only academic needs but also the social, emotional, and behavioral factors that can impact learning. I believe every student can be successful when instruction is tailored to their unique strengths and learning style.
