Bio

My name is Rozeta K. I am a licensed English Language Arts teacher and Certified AP Language teacher in the State of Texas. I have taught for over fifteen years. For the past eleven years,I have taught English Language Arts in Texas. Currently, I teach AP English Language and Composition to high school students in Central Texas. Previously I have taught in international setting overseas in Cairo, Egypt and Ankara, Turkey.

My name is Rozeta K. I am a licensed English Language Arts teacher and Certified AP Language teacher in the State of Texas. I have taught for over fifteen years. For the past eleven years,I have taught English Language Arts in Texas. Currently, I teach AP English Language and Composition to high school students in Central Texas. Previously I have taught in international setting overseas in Cairo, Egypt and Ankara, Turkey.

In June 2010, I completed a teacher's certification internship with Tarleton State University, Texas A&M in Central Texas, and ever since, I have been teaching English Language Arts in Central Texas. In addition to completing teaching Internship with Tarleton State University in Central Texas, I also have a Bachelor's of Arts in English Literature and Language from Cairo University. The best thing I love about teaching is the opportunity to empower students to accomplish their goals and dreams. Initially when I came to Texas I thought I would be teaching for a couple of years before moving on to the next adventure; but, I loved it so much that I have successfully completed my 11th year with KISD.

My philosophy in education is that learning has the power to transform lives and as such I love helping students realize their dreams. I would love to help you in your journey to master comprehension, literary, rhetorical analysis and writing skills. I use best strategies as text depended questions, guided reading annotations to empower students with comprehension and literary, rhetorical analytical skills.

I am a certified English language Arts teacher in the state of Texas and I have taught over 10 years End of Year Examination Courses of English II. I implement Common Core Standards in my End of Year Examination courses for English II, and AP English III. I have also worked with TEA in Reviewing Item Field testing questions for the End of Year examination. I have extensive experience in tutoring students to prepare and successfully challenge the STAAR test. In addition I have worked in Assessment scoring student responses in standardized testing which has enabled me to strongly align instruction so that students can succesfully challenge English state tests. I attend AP Summer Institutes which focus in alignment of instruction for the Common Core Assessment.

I am certified by College Board to teach AP English Language and Composition as well as AP English Literature and Composition Courses to high school students in Central Texas. Both courses AP English Language ( AP Junior) and AP English Literature ( AP Senior English) are College Level courses with rigorous reading and writing materials. In teaching AP English for Juniors and Seniors, I help students develop the reading and writing strategies and skills that are essential in successfully challenging the SAT reading and writing exam. I have earned the College Board certificate for successfully completing the AP Summer Institute at Dallas State University in 2019 for teaching AP English Literature to Seniors. I have also earned an additional Certificate by College Board for successfully completing the training to teach AP Language and Composition with Woodward Academy in June of 2021.

I have ten years of experience teaching 10th grade and 9th grade English End of Year exam STAAR in the state of Texas. I am certified in English Language Arts as well as ESL with the State of Texas. In addition to teaching the STAAR End of Year subject, I participate in the Review Field Item testing with TEA which has enabled me to better align instruction with assessment. Furthermore, I have worked as a STAAR scorer which has enabled me to gain deep understanding of the application of the STAAR rubric in writing.This experience has enabled me to scaffold student writing for students to craft responses tha strongly and successfully align with the STAAR Standards.

I am certified English Language Arts teacher in Texas with experience in scoring essay responses for the STAAR EOC English I and II test as well as have worked with Pearson in scoring SAT writing responses. In addtion, I work in an examiner capacity with the International Baccalaureate in scoring students responses in the area of Theory of Knowledge and English HL, SL paper. The extensive experience in calibrating and scoring with standardized scoring rubrics have enabled me to strongly align student scaffolding for students to craft effective responses that meet and exceed the expectations of standardized tests.
