I have sixteen years of experience teaching secondary mathematics across a wide range of courses, including Algebra, Geometry, Algebra II, Pre-Calculus, AP Statistics, AP Calculus AB and BC, IB Math, and intervention and enrichment classes. Over the years, I have worked with students who love math, students who feel stuck or overwhelmed by it, and many who were convinced they were “just not math people.” I have taught in both the United States and international American schools in Alaska, Texas, Egypt, Nepal, Guatemala, and China, and I have supported students from many academic, cultural, and language backgrounds. My experience includes traditional classroom teaching, small-group instruction, one-on-one tutoring, and fully online learning using platforms such as Microsoft Teams, Google Classroom, and Moodle.
I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics and a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction with a K–14 Mathematics specialization, and I am currently in graduate school pursuing training in school counseling and professional counseling. I am certified to teach mathematics in Texas. More importantly, I focus on creating a calm, supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and building confidence as they learn.
In addition to my classroom and tutoring experience, I am a lifelong learner who genuinely enjoys mathematics and learning, and I bring that curiosity into my sessions when it helps students see math as something that can be understood rather than feared. Whether a student is trying to pass a required course, prepare for an exam, or rebuild confidence after a rough experience with math, I aim to meet them where they are and help them move forward at a pace that feels manageable and encouraging. My goal is for students to leave each session feeling more capable, more confident, and better prepared to succeed on their own.
In my free time I like to read, play computer games, scuba dive, and sing.
