Earth Science and Geology Teacher

I'm currently a middle school Earth science teacher with experience in both public and private school settings. I have previously taught middle school life and physical science as well as high school biology, but my favorite subject that I have taught the longest is Earth science. I've found that most of my students who need tutoring in Earth science don't have a tutor who has as much experience with this topic, since most of their science tutors specialize in biology or chemistry. I also have worked with students extensively on organization and study skills, as well as time management. This is extremely important for middle school students who are learning to adapt to a larger work load during a period in their growth and development that can be quite challenging.
I run an astronomy club and a rocketry club and am happy to help kids learn more about this, or engage them in other activities that involve earth and space science. I have a master's degree in Geoscience and enjoy the outdoors. I have a lot of travel and field experience in the topics that I teach in Earth science, and I've attended workshops at NASA on space science. I have two children - one in high school and one in college, so I have experience with the challenges of helping children succeed in school and balance their academic workload with their hobbies and downtime.

I have a M.S. in Geoscience, as well as an undergraduate degree in both biology and education. I'm an earth science teacher that can work with middle and high school students, as well as students taking geology for their science requirements in college.

I am flexible on evenings and weekends, and willing to work with students in person, virtually, or a combination of both. Please contact me if you have any questions.
