About me: My name is Sierra S. and I’m 28 years old. I'm an educator with an immense passion for teaching and learning. As I get older, I continue to seek out education so that I can be resourceful when it comes to my passion for teaching. Experience: I received a Bachelor’s of Arts degree in undergrad and as of May 2020 earned my Masters Degree in Education. Also, as of May 2020, I applied and was accepted into the Doctorate of Education Reading and Literacy Program with Capella University. I have been teaching elementary education for four years now. I have 2 certification in two different states. The first is in the state of Louisiana (my home state) in Elementary Education Grades 1-5. The second is from Florida, where I currently reside, in grades K-6. I have taught 3rd grade for three years and 5th grade for one year. I have experience in teaching all subjects in elementary education which are ELA, Math, Science, and Social Studies. My favorite subject to teach is ELA.
During this academic year, I am working as a 6th grade teacher at McReynolds Middle School in Houston, TX which has given me the unique qualifications that would be needed for this position. That includes making direct relationships with my students, and giving them the proper instruction so that they can be successful academically. Being a teacher has allowed me to teach to different learning styles. I set high expectations for my students because student achievement is strongly affected by that. Other than being a fifth year teacher my other jobs allowed me to work with confidence in fast pace environments and work in teams to make sure that everything is done with efficiency while paying close attention to detail. Throughout my time as a teacher I have learned to interact with people with different cultural backgrounds. With these different interactions, teaching has shaped me to develop all different traits of customer service. I ha
