Hello, I am Yingchuan. I got my Bachelor's degree in mathematics from Fudan University in China and a Ph.D. degree in statistics at the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor. During my high school, I received the first prize in National Mathematics Competition.
I have 2 years of college & graduate statistics teaching experience. The topics during my teaching covered most part of statistics. From the very basic concepts like random variables, t-test, hypothesis testing to the regression models(linear/logistic/ANOVA/multivariate regressions) and to the more advanced research topics like Bayesian, subgroup analysis and spatial statistics and etc. My class sizes were generally in the range of 20 to 40 students, but I also have experience of 1 on 1 tutoring for helping students preparing homework and quiz. Besides statistics, I also have quite a few 1 on 1 mathematics tutoring experience for helping high school students preparing AMC/AIME tests. In general, I am good at most of the mathematics topics. For example, all levels of calculus, algebra and probabilities. I am especially in love and good at mathematical Olympics. My self in high school received the first prize in National Mathematics Competition, which is top 35 of all high school students in the province.
I want to benefit the students as much as possible. I would love to see my students to be able to learn the difficult concepts in principal and be able to apply the technics to solve problems. I would love to see my students to gain confidence through learning and be able to develop their own thinking patterns. So feel free to contact me for additional questions or to schedule a lesson!
