Bio

Tutoring and teaching are my passions. I have a B.S. in Chemistry and I'm currently a high school chemistry teacher with experience as a tutor and college lab teaching assistant. My high school students earned the 2025 Best of Texas Top 1A Team award in Chemistry.

I specialize in tutoring high school and college general chemistry, helping students build a strong foundation for advanced topics. Many students struggle with chemistry because traditional teaching methods don’t work for them. I believe anyone can succeed if concepts are explained in a way that makes sense to them. I use alternative explanations and problem-solving strategies to make chemistry more accessible.

I guide students through problems, focusing on conceptual understanding, equation setup, and calculations. I offer support with coursework, homework, test prep, review sessions, and scientific presentations or projects.

Knowledgeable, Patient & Positive

Barbara worked with my 17 year old daughter (Junior in HS) who was really struggling with Chemistry. My daughter loved her tutoring sessions, because Barbara empowered her and contributed to lifting her self-esteem and feeling confident about her capability in Chemistry.
