I have tutored in classroom settings, in one-on-one settings, and I have taught both Calculus I and Calculus II as a Graduate Teaching assistant. I have a passion for math education and have written multiple columns on my love of mathematics. I also understand that there is a deep anxiety when it comes to mathematics and I do my best to alleviate that anxiety first.
My personal motto for tutoring is that nothing is obvious and if it were the student wouldn't need tutoring. Often tutors are exceptional students who themselves never struggled in the subject but that does not mean they are necessarily capable of teaching it effectively. I also understand that there is often a language barrier with STEM subjects, and I am proud to say that I have worked as a senior reporter for a newspaper and understand the importance of both written and verbal communication.
