I hold a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Clarinet Performance from The Ohio State University, supported by both a master’s and bachelor's degree in the same field. In addition to my musical training, I have extensive academic and professional experience in STEM disciplines. My background includes years of work as a software and cloud engineer, where I specialized in automation, coding, systems analysis, and cloud architecture. I also possess a strong foundation in mathematics and physics, further reinforced by my aviation training as a licensed commercial pilot.

My teaching experience spans more than a decade, primarily focused on clarinet instruction for students ranging from middle school musicians to college performance majors. I have worked one-on-one with developing clarinetists on technique, tone production, musicianship, and repertoire preparation, and I have also coached students in ensemble contexts. My approach emphasizes clear communication, diagnostic listening, and adapting methods to meet each student's goals and learning style. In addition to performance instruction, my long-standing work as a clarinet repair technician allows me to guide students in instrument care and setup, ensuring they develop both artistic and technical confidence.

Across my professional and academic career, I have developed strong analytical, problem-solving, and instructional skills. Whether teaching technical subjects such as coding, physics, and mathematics, or guiding students in musical development, I focus on creating a supportive, engaging environment that encourages curiosity and growth. My multidisciplinary expertise enables me to explain complex concepts in accessible ways and to help students build lasting mastery in their chosen subjects.

Information Technology

Information Technology

I have extensive professional experience in information technology, having served in roles ranging from IT Support Engineer to IT Systems Administrator and Senior Cloud Engineer. Throughout these positions, I’ve built a strong foundation in server administration, system diagnostics, Microsoft 365 and Active Directory management, virtualization technologies, and enterprise‑level infrastructure support. My background also includes developing and implementing automation solutions that streamline processes, reduce repetitive workloads, and improve overall system reliability, drawing on years of hands‑on experience enhancing operational efficiency across complex environments. Across multiple corporate IT settings, I have managed Windows and Linux systems, configured network and cloud resources, and resolved advanced technical issues for both on‑site and remote users. I’ve also collaborated with cross‑functional teams, mentored junior technicians, and contributed to large‑scale infrastructure projects, giving me a clear and well‑rounded perspective that I bring to students learning foundational and advanced IT concepts.
Microsoft Windows

Microsoft Windows

Working across a range of IT roles—from support engineering to systems administration and cloud engineering—I’ve spent years managing and supporting Windows‑based environments in both on‑premises and cloud‑integrated settings. My work has involved maintaining Windows workstations and Windows Server platforms, administering Microsoft 365 services, and ensuring systems remain secure, patched, and reliable for large user bases. A significant portion of my responsibilities has involved Active Directory, Group Policy, and domain services, along with deploying and managing Windows and Linux virtual machines across enterprise environments. I’ve also supported major rollouts, troubleshooting efforts, and cross‑department technical needs, ensuring Windows systems function smoothly within broader infrastructure and cloud ecosystems. Automation has played a major role in my Windows work as well. I’ve written, developed, and debugged PowerShell scripts to streamline administrative tasks, manage infrastructure processes, and reduce repetitive workloads. These scripting efforts have supported everything from cloud deployments to server configuration and general system automation, giving me a practical, real‑world understanding of how PowerShell improves efficiency and maintains consistency across Windows environments.
Networking (Computer)

Networking (Computer)

My professional experience in information technology includes a strong foundation in networking, developed through years of hands‑on work as an IT Systems Administrator, IT Support Engineer, and Senior Cloud Engineer. In these roles, I have configured and maintained LAN and WAN environments, managed routing and switching, and worked extensively with networking hardware such as Cisco and Ubiquiti devices. My background also includes deep familiarity with TCP/IP, wireless protocols, VPN technologies, firewalls, DNS management, and secure remote connectivity, all of which have been essential in supporting enterprise‑level infrastructures. Over the course of my career, I have overseen the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of complex network systems, ensuring stable, secure, and high‑performance environments for both on‑site and distributed teams. This includes managing fiber‑backbone MDF/IDF designs, refining network architectures, troubleshooting connectivity issues, and optimizing systems for reliability and scalability. I have also collaborated with engineers, developers, and administrative teams to ensure seamless integration between networking components, server platforms, and cloud resources, giving me a broad and practical understanding of how modern networks support organizational needs.
