My name is Cameron S., and the first thing you should know about me is that I love math. I graduated Sam Houston State University in 2023 with a Mathematics degree and a minor in Economics. I always found professors that explain the basics of the the math before going into the more depth complexities of a new subjects are the best for me, and I try to practice that method on my tutees as well. I want to make sure you understand the basics of what's going on, so when you apply it with the newer math you are learning, it won't seem as daunting than before.
I've been tutoring math ever since my junior year in high school when I took up a job at a little after school club called Roxie Doulas. There, I tutor middle school age kids math two hours for four days out of a week. After being enrolled at Sam Houston, I also got a job at the Math Center there as an official tutor for Sam Houston which I worked for 3 years in. After graduating college, I was a middle school teacher for 3 years in both Trinity ISD and Willis ISD.
I love tutoring people in math, as I love the feeling of someone understanding a difficult subject and being there for that "oh I get it now!" face that everyone gets. In general, passing knowledge down to others is one the joys I look forward to in life.
Again, I've been working as a middle school tutor for Roxie Douglas, and as a tutor at Sam Houston I tutor various fields of math. Being exposed to all of these mathematics every day makes me a good tutor in general as most time I won't forget how to do a certain subject.
I also tend to go above and beyond for my tutees, making sure they understand the concepts to even making handouts specifically for them for a certain subject that requires memorization. I'll do everything in my power to make sure they understand what's going on.
