Hello! I’m Brett. I am an illustrator with emphasis in digital medium. I love to sketch, paint, draw comics, character designs, and even environments! I’ve received a Bachelors of Fine Arts in both Painting and Photography from the University of Iowa. I currently reside in Texas with my wife, Emily, and yellow lab, Kinnick.
I have taught acrylic painting through a company called Pinot’s Palette, where I would instruct a large class of students to complete a specific painting with 2-3 hours. I will apply the same teaching strategies I’ve developed from the 7+ years that I’ve worked for this company to the tutoring I will offer through Wyzant.
One thing I wish I had access to while in school was direct online tutorship over specific topics and subjects, so, my intention through Wyzant is to offer students a unique teaching style while covering artistic techniques through an app called Procreate. Unfortunately, it is only offered through iOS, however, I still plan to offer traditional art medium tutorship as well i.e. drawing, sketching, ink, etc., but my main focus will be through Procreate, a digital illustrative software.
I also want to offer students direct support and constructive feedback during their journey to better their artistic skills. Everyone experiences art in different ways and I hope I can provide methods and techniques that bring more possibilities to my students’ development!
