My name is Mr. Jarrod and I have taught On-level, Pre-Advanced Placement & Advanced Placement Chemistry at Klein Forest High School in Houston, Texas for the last nine years. I have served as the Chemistry Team Leader, a Sponsor for the Interact student Rotary club, a teacher and student mentor, a member of the Discipline Advisory Committee, and an Avid Site team member.

I received Six Sigma business training in 2009 while working with Oxane Nanomaterials. This training helped me to participate in jointly writing Klein Forest’s Lead the Spark grant during the 2011-2012 school year which resulted in the school receiving the $20,000 necessary to create the Lynne Dozier Logic Lounge, which was founded to be the school’s first ever advanced academic center.

I am also a part of the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) Houston high school cohort which is a partnership between the University of Houston, Texas A&M University, and Klein Forest High School designed to train teachers on methods of boosting the students’ interests in the courses of the STEM curriculum and to also encourage future enrollment at Texas A&M and University of Houston. As a member of this program, I have created inquiry based research laboratory activities for my students such as an investigation of organic solar panel efficiency and lithography fabrication to simulate nanopantography.

I have a proven track record of success helping students at various levels facilitate discovery of Chemistry principles.

I am Texas state certified to teach Chemistry. I have been trained to teach Pre-AP and AP Chemistry.

Additionally I am ESL certified and I train other teachers on technology applications as well as differentiated instruction.
