Excellent Tutor
I have been trying to write my personal statement for months but I just could not put the words together . Travis helped me with my first paragraph and within a week, I completed about five paragraphs ( with his help too). I really enjoyed working with him. He is an excellent tutor. He helped me with my personal statement for grad school and identified that I needed help with language choice, grammar and sentence structure. He also gave me extra lessons on basic grammar rules. He is knowledgeable and patient as a tutor. I will definately use his services again.

Extremely knowledgeable and helpful tutor--a godsend!
I have been banging my head against the wall trying to write and organize a graduate-level academic paper. Travis was fantastic! He really helped me with both the revision process and the organization of the paper. Travis's experience as a professor is clear because he asks just the right questions to teach you how to think about your own work. I feel like I have a much better idea of how to approach revisions now. Travis had me talk out my ideas aloud and I was immediately able to see I had missed a couple of steps in my organization logic. He immediately understood what I was trying to achieve with my writing. He didn't push his own ideas on me, but instead, let me come to the conclusions myself. I feel so much better about my outline and structure. I feel like it is completely do-able to complete the writing now, whereas before I was totally lost. Then, we dove into the actual writing. I had a lot of drafting, but for some reason, it was just not coming together. Travis has a good methodology of working at the page, paragraph, and sentence level in order to whip your writing into shape. We worked on organization, streamlining, cohesiveness, and clarity. In just the two hours we spent, I felt like my draft drastically improved in readability and clarity. Travis's teaching style is good because he's not proofreading--he gets you to learn/think about the best way to revise your own work. Travis helped me create a plan not only for structuring my paper but also for my writing process. Travis has published works in Lit journals, so he was able to offer revision tips not only on useful structuring tips--but also on formatting and standards in the field. I think his style would work well for any writer. I highly recommend this tutor!
