Hi I’m Annelaure! I am a recent high school graduate and will be starting my freshman year at the University of Houston Honors College this upcoming august. Ever since I was a freshman in high school, I have always loved helping people (which is why I started volunteering at a local hospital that same year as well). And so, that passion — combined with my passion for learning and teaching others — prompted me to tutor a few kids in my neighboring at the beginning of my junior year. My hope during tutoring sessions is not only help others gain better knowledge in the subject that they need help with but also help boost their confidence and prepare them for the future as well.
Due to my passion for learning about the human body and it’s functions (which is also why I am pursuing a pre med track in college), I took anatomy and physiology during my senior year at my college preparatory high school. During this time period, I have maintained a 99 and 100 semester average and I have no doubt that I can help others increase their knowledge in this field as well.
Throughout high school, I have won numerous short writing contests and was nominated by my teacher for an academic excellence award for English II during my sophomore year. In addition, I got a 35 on the Reading section on the ACT.
Vietnamese is my native language and because my parents don’t want us to lose our roots, we are only allowed to speak Vietnamese at home so it greatly helped me maintain my fluency in the subject.
I want to help to the best of my abilities which is why I will try my best to work around your schedules in addition to listening to any suggestions/struggles that you may have and will try to find the best approach to it together.
