Hi,
I’m Poornima, a first-year medical student at Baylor College of Medicine. For the past two years, I’ve been doing private MCAT tutoring and application advising for pre-med students. I’d love to work with you!

Hi,
I’m Poornima, a first-year medical student at Baylor College of Medicine. For the past two years, I’ve been doing private MCAT tutoring and application advising for pre-med students. I’d love to work with you!
Here’s some information about me:
I majored in biomedical engineering at UT Austin. Two years ago, I got a 525 (132/131/132/130) on the MCAT. I worked hard and the whole experience was stressful, as it is for every student who takes this test. I decided that I could use my experience to help others score well too. Since then, I’ve tutored 12 students. I mostly focus on content review, creating study schedules, and working passages together with my students. Most of my students have seen their score increase by at least 15 points. I’d like to offer my services to Rice students. I have been very successful with students at UT, and I think you could significantly benefit as well.
Unfortunately, many students buy expensive courses from Kaplan or Princeton Review, but big test prep companies overcharge and don’t offer individually tailored classes. I got a better score than most of their tutors, and my students have gotten better results with me than with those programs. I consider my job to make the whole process as minimally stressful as possible.
Last year, I applied for medical school. After months of writing essays, going to interviews, and waiting, I got into Baylor. I learned a lot about applying that I wish I knew earlier. I hope that I can use my experience to help you plan extracurricular activities and research; edit your personal statements; and prep you for your interviews.
I scored a 525 (132/131/132/130) on the MCAT (100th percentile) two years ago.
