Hi there, I'm Alex. I was a fourth grade gifted and talented teacher for four years. I was a librarian and reading and writing specialist for one year. However, because I love fourth grade so much, I decided to switch back to fourth! So, I taught fourth-grade again from 2020-2023.

Hi there, I'm Alex. I was a fourth grade gifted and talented teacher for four years. I was a librarian and reading and writing specialist for one year. However, because I love fourth grade so much, I decided to switch back to fourth! So, I taught fourth-grade again from 2020-2023.
I graduated from Louisiana State University in 2014 with a degree in Elementary Education. In August 2018, I earned my Master's Degree in Educational Administration from Lamar University. I recently graduated with my doctorate in educational leadership with a concentration in reading from UHCL. I currently serve as a College Access Program Manager.
Before becoming a teacher, I worked for a summer camp and it was the most fun ever! During the school year, I would design songs, dances, and games into my lessons to make them more fun for my students.
Personally, I love reading and try to encourage my students and all kids to read as much as they can.
I am certified to teach Elementary Grades to 6th grade, and English II.
During the school year, I build my students' reading comprehension through interesting class novels and high-interest books. I also get the students engaged in writing through creative writing prompts and providing them with grammar tidbits and mentor examples to make the writing process easier.
Since I like to see students feel confident and successful, I decided to try my hand at tutoring. I had a tutor from second grade until high school graduation, so I am excited to give back to others. I want to strengthen your child's weaknesses, transform their learning experience, and keep them from experiencing a lack of confidence in their abilities.
