Bio

I have been tutoring Math and French for over 10 years in local schools and privately. I currently focus on Algebra (Algebra 1,2, College Algebra), Precalculus, Trigonometry, French.
My math academic background comes from a Bachelor and Masters in Electrical Engineering with Math minor.

I was born in France, have spoken the language from birth, and, living in a country where French isn't spoken, I just enjoy speaking and teaching it anytime the opportunity presents itself!

I have been tutoring Math and French for over 10 years in local schools and privately. I currently focus on Algebra (Algebra 1,2, College Algebra), Precalculus, Trigonometry, French.

I have helped several students improve grades, confidence and understanding of the math concepts. I have also worked with students for pass state tests and standardized exams (5 on AP Calc BC!). Those years of tutoring have also made me a better tutor.

Tutoring math is not a one-size-fits-all field; two students may have the same question, but the same explanation that works for one may not work for the other. While the student's goals and learning style(s) guide my approach, I always make sure they can explain the problem back to me. That usually is an good indicator of their understanding of the concepts applied in the problem.

Algebra 1

Algebra 1

I have a Masters in Electrical Engineering, a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Mathematics. I have also tutored Algebra for over 10 years at local schools and privately. I am proud to have helped students pass state exams, improve their Algebra understanding level and grades. Working with different students has also made me better, as I've learned that 2 students may have the same area of need, but the explanation that worked for one may not necessarily make sense to the other!

I have a very strong academic background in Mathematics, and have been tutoring high school and college Algebra students extensively over the pat year. I have scored a 100% on the GRE math test as well, and above all, have a tremendous passion to help people better understand Mathematics.
French

French

While extremely fluent in English, French is my first language! I was born in France and learned French language from a very, very early age. I have translated legal and business documents from French to English (and vice-versa), and have tutored students taking French as a foreign language. I have helped people improve their French conversation skills for trips to France. More than anything, I just enjoy speaking French and helping others learn it anytime the opportunity presents itself, especially living in an area where French speakers aren't found in bunches!

In addition to my educational and tutoring experience, I am very passionate about helping students gain a better understanding of Math subjects!

My academic background in Electrical Engineering required I learn a lot of Math! Combined to a natural affinity for most things Math, I got into tutoring and have over 10 years of experience in subjects like Precalculus (regular, AP, advanced, honors Precalculus). One of my proudest tutoring achievements is helping an advanced Precalculus who was considering dropping the class and say goodbye to his Mechanical Engineering dreams. Through diligent hard work from the student, his grades, understanding and self-confidence all drastically improved and he was now ready to take an AP Calc class! Seeing the student's relationship to Precalculus (and Math in general) change over time is such a rewarding feeling and I'm looking forward to working with you, taking the anxiety out of Precalculus!
