Millsaps College (Geology)
Texas A&M University (Master's)
My first teaching position was as a lab instructor in undergraduate school. Because we only had one full time Geology professor and no graduate students, I taught two labs my senior year. After earning my MS in Geological Oceanography from Texas A&M University, I entered the oil & gas industry.
I have an excellent educational background in the physical sciences, especially geology. I have worked in both exploration and production using the knowledge I gained during my years in academia and my vast experience in the energy sector. I have been mentoring less experienced geoscientists for many years, giving them the tools and experience I have gained during my career as an oil and gas geologist. My knowledge of geologic fundamentals is outstanding and has been continually updated by attending industry and in-house classes, seminars and staying current my membership in local and international geological societies .I am presently working as a substitute teacher and have recently taught two geology classes at the high school level.
I want the experience to be rewarding for both the student and myself. I pride myself in being well prepared. I welcome feedback and will try and accommodate scheduling as much as possible. I have a 12 hour cancellation policy but will try and make up missed sessions.
Please feel free to let me know if I can be of service. I hope to establish a positive experience that meets or exceeds the goals of the student. We worked together how to make the lines correctly. We worked also on profiling maps, and studying maps . I really needed to refresh my mind and Stacy teaching me made it much less stressful than what it really is . I felt pretty good and continued the night . One map I was looking at, I didn't quit until I got it . And if was because I had to remember when he taught me. It took me a while to get it but I ended up getting it . I feel I am ready and I definitely will do just fine .
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have taken College Geology courses in Physical, Historical, Mineralogy, Structural, Stratigraphy, Sedimentology, Petrology, etc.
