I am a certified Texas educator with more than seven years of classroom teaching experience, specializing in elementary mathematics. I currently teach 4th grade Math and Science and have experience teaching students across the elementary grade levels. I hold a bachelor’s degree from Prairie View A&M University and an MBA from LSU Shreveport. I am also certified in EC–6 Core Subjects and Special Education EC–12.
My tutoring approach focuses on helping students understand why a math strategy works instead of simply memorizing steps. I break challenging concepts into smaller, manageable steps and use models, visuals, guided practice, and targeted questions to identify exactly where a student is struggling. I have extensive experience teaching place value, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals, word problems, graphing, and other elementary math concepts. I also have experience preparing students for Texas STAAR assessments.
I believe students make the most progress when instruction is individualized and encouraging. I use student performance data to identify learning gaps and adjust instruction based on each child’s needs. Whether a student needs help catching up, completing homework, preparing for an assessment, or strengthening their overall math confidence, my goal is to provide clear, patient, structured instruction that helps them become more independent and successful learners.
