In public school there are so many distractions within the classroom environment that hinder a students' learning ability. I know that, because I have been a classroom teacher for fifteen years. I started my career at W.I. Stevenson Middle School in Houston ISD; an inner city middle school Later, in the spring of 2000, the principal selected me to moved to Ceasar Chavez High School, also in Houston ISD. This opportunity came with a promotion to Department Chair for Social Studies.
My experience, knowledge, and professionalism earned the respect of co-workers, students and parents. I am currently enriching my knowledge of Social Studies at Sam Houston University, simply for the fun of learning!
