Hi! My name is Heding, and you can call me Charlie! I have a strong background in mathematics and teaching. I earned a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from the University of Texas at Austin with University High Honors, along with a secondary teaching certificate. I have experience teaching and tutoring students in geometry, statistics, probability, calculus, and Algebra I and II.
I have worked with students in both classroom and tutoring settings. As a math teaching assistant at UT Austin, I held weekly office hours and helped more than 60 students with their math questions and projects. As a teacher intern, I helped teach calculus and geometry and tutored more than 20 students preparing for the SAT and TSI. I also completed my student teaching in Algebra II, creating lessons, worksheets, quizzes, and projects for more than 60 students. Currently, I teach Algebra I and Algebra II to approximately 200 ninth-grade students.
I am comfortable tutoring middle and high school mathematics, including Algebra I, Algebra II, Geometry, and Calculus, as well as SAT/TSI math preparation. My approach is to explain concepts clearly, identify where students are having difficulty, and use practice problems and examples to help them build confidence.
